I haven't seen/heard all the details on this yet, but I have seen some things that certain feature changes will require a contract renewal. Does anyone know if switching from a basic america's choice plan to a select plan will be included with the no contract extension?

As of Sunday, 10/7, the following changes are being made to the Worry Free Guarantee (WFG):
• Customers will no longer be required to renew or extend their contract when changing to any current
calling plan.

The only exception is when they are doing an upgrade of equiptment.

The other exception to this is certain promotions and plans that will require a one or two year agreement.

We no longer require a 1 or 2-year contract to change plans.that includes our save /loyalty plans, such as the $59.99 Americas Choice Loyalty Family SharePlan or the $25 and $20 Americas Choice Loyalty Plans.

Only promotional offers (1,000 or 2,000 Overage Protection Minutes, 1 month free access, 1,000 In Calling minutes), Loyalty credits and equipment upgrades will require contracts.

I had a conference call with my account manager and his boss this morning. He said that this new policy is helping to open the doors for our customers to switch to the select plans without renewal. Which to me says that changing to/from select plans would not affect the customers contract terms.

He's been wrong before.......but I guess I just wish we had some straight up clarification on this before I start upsetting a lot of people next week 👀

Well, heres what my account manager told me this morning...

She said that as long as you change plans between the same family (i.e Basic to basic, select to select) then there is no extension.

But if you change from a Basic to a Select or Premimum plan then it extends your contract, or if you switch from a Select to a Basic it also extends it.

I wish we could get the correct info on this...

Well I just sent him an email. I want to have in writing one way or the other which way it is. That way if he tells me that we can change from Premium and select without renewal, and he's wrong, I've got something to fall back on for my customers sake.

I'll let you know if/when I hear back from him...

according to my verizon rep nothing right now causes a contract extension, the only thing that would is if they accept a promotion which nothing offered now is considered a promo...so basic to select, select to prem, prem to basic, etc neither of these requires a contract extension so as of now (well tomorrow technically) nothing requires a contract extension besides upgrades
