I'm about to go with VZW with a Nokia 6015i and 400 minute America's Choice Plan:

I Need to connect phone with laptop for email and I'm a Full time RV'r
who travels the country extensively

I still have the AT&T/Cingular One rate and will continue minimum
minutes plan as a hedge to test Verizon's service for awhile. (email
with my Nokia 5160 is now broken - modem problem)

Plan to buy Nokia 6015i phone ($59 for 1 year contract) and 400 minute
America Choice plan, at a Verizon Company Store. I'm aware that there
are *3rd party deals* that will provide the phone *free* and even throw

if you're going to use the free internet (just uses allowance minutes)--the one where it connects at speeds of 14kbs/sec then I would have customer service delete the national access feature. The internet coonection is defaulted to connect to the national access network and if you don't add a national access feature package then you will use airtime and seperate cost per kilobyte or per minute.

If you want faster connection speeds then I would reccomend adding a national access feature package, I don't have the costs memorized.

You said in your original post that you will buy Nokia DKU-5 USB Data Cable from Tangshop.com for 15.95. give it a shot see if it works, I don't think VZW sells a mobile office kit for the nokia.

If it works, then essentially the phone will be used as a modem when hooked up to your computer then you can access any website from your laptop

I was considering your suggestion but If the 3rd party cable doesn't work, then I'm stuck with a phone that won't do what I want and a new 1 year contract. Not a good thing.

I've talked/emailed about 20 folks who profess to be experts. 10 tell me one thing and 10 tell me another.
