Voicemail indicator doesn't work

I've been a Verizon customer for the past 2.5 years, using a family share plan. Over the past 2.5 years, the voicemail indicator on my 2nd line has never worked. (The indicator on my 1st line has always worked perfectly.) I initially had a v120c and, after calling Verizon and having them fail to fix it, I figured it was an issue with the phone itself.

Voicemail itself seems to work as it should, as people can leave messages, I can listen to them, and delete them, but there is never an indicator.

Now I have just purchased two v260's, just alike. And again, the one on the primary line works fine, but the one on the 2nd line gets no voicemail indicator. Two identical phones, side by side - one works perfectly and the other not at all....

3 ways i can think of that vm indicator could not be working. 1) the features attached to your service 2) in the switches that process your calls, 3)in the vm options. if cs has confirmed that correct features on service and in the switch, then the place to check is within the vm itself. first go into the vm system as if you were checking messages. when offered the option, select #4 personal options, the first option listed ought to be the message waiting indicator. you will be able to turn it off or on and have your choice confirmed.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I've been through the VM settings about 5 times. Didn't help.

For the switch and the features, I guess I have to trust VZW to check those, right?
