Blackberry Questions on Verizon

Ok, I am thinking about making the switch to the 8830 from the Q but have questions on exchange interface

1) IT guy hates anything non Microsoft. Do I need him to do anything?
2) Does my computer need to be on to use instant forward?
3) Does it sync calendar, notes, to do's automatically etc?
4) Will my emails say sent from Blackberry on the bottom if I do not have the software on the exchange server.

Any website referrals that explain this would be helpful as well.

I don't think BlackBerry can use Exchange servers, it has to go through RIM servers (BES or BIS). If your company has a BlackBerry BES server, that would work great.

Yes it can sync with Outlook data. In my opinion, not as well as Windows Mobile though.

You can change the signature.

Your computer does NOT have to be on for e-mail to work.

Check out this website blackberryforums.com it might answer a bunch of questions. I like BB better than Windows OS.

1)If you don't have admin rights on your computer you will need him to download the redirector software onto your computer. You will need to use the redirector software unless your company utlizes a BES.

Q is not floating my boat. It is slow and crashes all the time. Just Generally not in love with any WM phones or the ones I see on the way. I like the form factor of the Q and would like something along those lines. Maybe Verizon will get the new Palm, or the Blackjack?
