Is anybody else havving a problem
Okay, I use a Samsung SCH-I730, no internet package (Verizon's Data plans are still too expensive) and I've noticed over the past few weeks, if not months that my call quality has declined and my phone hangs up for no reason while I'm on a call. The battery has plenty of juice, good signal strength, no weird apps running in the background, just boom, it hangs up. I've had it happen at home, in the car, different states, all over the place. I've also been getting crapier voice quality as well. Does this sound like a problem anyone else is having? I'm not making a big deal out of it since SUPPOSEDLY the i760 will be out next week and it's way past time to upgrade, but anyone else seeing this problem?

given that you are stating you issue occurs in different states it's not a network issue. Network voice quality issues are usually a cell site or at worst a switch issue. A cell site has an average range of 3 to 5 miles for voice (with a LOT of variables) and switched aren't going to cross state lines. I'd say your issue may be phone related.
I was never fond of the I730 myself Whn the phone came out i thought it was WAY too bulky.
The i760 however is VERY nice looking. but i havn't been able to play with it yet.

Just curious... When was the last time that you updated your phone??? If your not sure try this...
Dial *228, Send.. Listen for the prompts & Press Opt 2...
If your still having an issue just give customer care a call.. it might just need a few refreshes on the Network side...

Thanks tinkers, I've run the *228 again last week, but no dice. I'm truly hoping the i760 comes out next week and that it has better overall sound quality than the i730. Don't get me wrong I love the 730, but it's huge and the voice quality has alway been sub-par even after changing the 13k voice codex. I think I can survive for another week and a half unless the problem gets worse, but thanks for the help.

I don't like the i760. I think the i730 is much nicer looking. Plus I don't prefer landscape keyboards, and the i760's looks a lot more cramped than those on HTC devices.

I too have an i730, and I have not had this problem, but some people do, I've heard.
Try a reset. Soft first, and if it persists, hard.
