i posted this here because i thought it might be a setting in the UI and since most verizon phones have the same UI someone might know

hey all I have the orange 9900 Nve and when I first got the phone if someone sent me a txt message and I didnt hear it for some reason I had the reminder set to every 2 minutes and the ringtone i set to txt alerts would ring every 2 min till i checked the message

now all of a sudden instead of the ringtone playing again i get this low beep every two min

I dont have the greatest hearing because of a accident and that beep 80% of the time isnt loud enough for me to hear it .. is there a way to make the ring tone ring every two minutes?

any help on this would be greatly appreciated .. thank you f...

outside chance here but worth a try. Take the battery out and put it back in, now go in and change your reminder back to a ringtone and try again

Then you put your right foot in, now take your right foot out, then you stick your right foot in and you shake it all about!

weird?

You could go get it flashed, that will most likely delete the ringtones you sent through mms, but it would proabbly fix the ringtone on the reminder?

don't know what else to tell you that is odd. When I had that phone i never had that problem and I sent them through mms. I had the silver one though when it first came out so different software i am sure.

wanna hear something really odd

Verizon gave me a new phone .. brand new .. and i put in my old card .. sent myself about 4 "sounds" saved them as ring tones .. downloaded about 4 ringtones from get it now and SAME THING HAPPENS weather i choose one of my saved as ringtones or one that i downloaded or even one that was on the phone .. it just merely beeps on reminder

it must be something maybe my 2gb memory card .. or verizon messing with it because i saved my own ringtones .. very fustrated

hmmm, sounds just like a software glitch, and since Verizon does not really aprove of you sending yourself ringtones I doubt we will ever see an update to fix it. Sorry but you are probably just SOL

I know this may come across as rude, but all phones have to be built for the general public. Not with certain individuals. Some may want a softer "vibrate feature", while others like it strong. Some can't stand the size of the EnV, some think it has every feature they could imagine rolled up into one unit. Some want a better camera built in, others view it as just a phone.

So, as a general, if the EnV played a ringtone when a text came in great. But if one were sitting at work, taking a nap, or watching TV.. would they want to hear the ringtone again? A majority would say "no". We know when we got a message, or missed a call. We don't need the phone to make all the noises again to remind us.

That being said, I too have the EnV. And I ...

i didnt see your reply as rude and i totally understand what you are saying .. the thing i was frustrated about was that it worked at one point and now it doesnt .. I mean hell work pays for a AT&T for me and I have a SE K790 and it doesnt even have a reminder just a notice on the screen and thats fine with me i still love the phone

UPDATE: i called in again to VZW and the tech actually called LG and got back to me .. he said they told him with the new software up date they changed it to the soft beep .. thats why even the new phone i got did it .. it has the new software version on it

my friend who has the same phone never updated his so thats why it still rings the actual ringtone as a reminder

See if your friend will trade you phones if they are the same.

I dont know if there are ways to download the older software back into your phone, I doubt it, if there was, it would most likely have to be a third party, and that is a long shot.

talk to verizon, explain your situation, maybe they will do it for you being that you have a reason. They could have changed the software to let the person decide if they want the beep riminder or the ringtone reminder. God forbid us people have a choice on how to set our phones. Call verizon and see if they can do anything for you. Or start looking for a third party that can put in the older software. I dont know if any is possible, but you dont know till you start asking.
