Now that Pearl will be on VZW net (it was about time) and unlimited data for pearl will be $30 any idea if "unlimited" data packs for other PDAs will go down?

is $30 confirmed for pearl data? I thought that was still not confirmed.

Just curious,

so you are gonna get it I presume?

Im debating between the voyager and the 755p, although the pearl could be thrown in there if data prices drop.

I think it would be really stupid to drop data only on the pearl. you would really piss off a lot people who are paying $45 for data on other phones. And blackberries are constantly in communication, so they use way more data than someone paying $45 to use the internet on a treo or moto Q

yeah the Voyager looks cool, but im dead set on getting a BB. I have heard so many worthless rumors that im just going to assume im paying 45 bucks, until i hear something different from verizon! 🙂 and i still hope we see a Curve in fist half of 08, hopefully...

im surprised you're considering the Vogager 😲 i thought you refused to live without threaded txt.

yeah, the thats why I'll prolly get the 755p. Threaded texting is one of life's little luxuries that I don't know if I can give up, lol.

The voyager was just so innovative that I think it has to enter into the conversation. Plus if data prices stay high, I would much rather just pay the $15 for vcast.

November should be fun...Im might as well set up a tent at the vzw store, cause I'll prolly be there every week.

yeah the html browser should be sweet! and might be a major selling point (atleast for me) if it functions as described.

Well if that is truly the case then that's frigin pimp, but Chris brings up a good point about PDA data remaining at 45, seems like a stab in the back to those guys 😕

Something doesn't sound right. Like I said I'm waiting for the announcment, this is all fu(king retarded!!

I had a RAZR V3M and liked it but then I saw the LG VX 8700 and fell in love with the look of it.

Not sure now if I like the sound if it though. I feel it gets a bit shrill when you need to hear the voices in a noisy environment. As an experiment, I re-activated the RAZR for a week (last week) and thought the sound quality was much better.
I am actually thinking of selling my MINT 8700 and re-activating the RAZR till I find something I like.

What tickles my fancy?
1. Blackberry Curve (full keyboard and camera)
2. Blackbery Pearl
3. Anything that...

Yeah the 8700 looks nice, I had it for a few days and returned it for the reason you state . . . I'm huge on sound clarity too probably more than most because I've had so many phones, and when one sticks out with exceptional call clarity it's hard to be satisfied with less (hence why I have stuck with my gzone for so long).

I don't switch phones that much I'm always looking forward to the next better device, so I tend to stick with the best until something better comes along.

We want the same phones. . I want the Curve more than anything, and if ATT was just a little better I would have ported for a phone which is not my style...quality network first, phones second...but Damn it the Curve would just meet all my needs so well.

I know, it looks really neat. Oh well I am going to wait patiently till the Pearl comes out for VZW and check out the sound quality first. If it is good, I might go there.

Meanwhile I think I need to visit Craiglist or e-bay to place my 8700 up for grabs. 🙂

Don't cry, guns... VZW gets the Curve Q1 2008.

And there's s'posed to be a new $29.99 Blackberry data plan coming too.

This is according to Omie, a guy who's been consistently good at leaking accurate advance info over at HoFo.

It's a little hard to believe that the Curve will out that soon, considering the Pearl has been out well over a year and verizon is just now releasing it, I don't believe it.

Just an fyi for anyone wondering or upset about the fact the Pearl will have a $30 data pack.

- Only Blackberrys using BIS (Blackberry INTERNET Service) will be able to get the $30 package. This means, no access to BES servers.

- PDA's will still be charged the $44.99 since there is no divide between POP3 internet email and people with corporate email through their own servers.

It all comes down to how much data the average user will use. Corporate users will push much more data and attachments through the network to their device, hence, higher cost.

Im with ya gunny. I still can't believe they left the regular data for smartphones at $45 dollars.

That makes no sense to me! Once this gets officially announced people are gonna be complaining like a mutha.

Looks like Im going blackberry from here on out. Cause Im damn sure not paying $45 when BB's are only charged $30

when i went to training last week on the BB pearl the BB guy skiped over the Power point slide that said "New Data pricing!!!!" when i tried to ask about it my rep and him both jumped down my throught "NOPE...NOTHING...SAME PLANS!" I find it funny that i can just as easily come on here and get the information anyway. but i think the reason for Reduced data is the pearl has some new browser in it which is supposed Compress web pages down quite a bit and use a lot less MB's that's the only reason i can think of... is it just for the pearl or ALL Blackberry devices??

Thanks

ive heard that all blackberries for consumers will be eligible for lower data prices.

The main reason for the drop in price is bc the Pearl is being targeted to non business users. They expect a lot of people to use this phone for personal use, and a lot of people who never considered a BB before will now look at the Pearl. Also, BB is made mostly for email. I talk to a lot of BB users who have never even used the browser on the phone.

Now, I have no idea if the price will eventually go down for other PDAs. I would think people who bought the Moto Q9m bought it for personal use also.

That's just my opinion
