I did not know this, so I figured I'd share with the rest of you....But according to Wom who has done extensive reading on the subject, once the feds release all the spectrum they won, Tmobile will official have more spectrum than verizon 😲 Crazy huh?

Opinions.

Most of the spectrum T-Mobile has is in the AWS band, which they have yet to implement in many parts of the country. Verizon Wireless has theirs in a combination of cellular & PCS. Verizon only acquired AWS spectrum where their growth is at. So it wasn't a priority for them. It was far more important for T-Mobile, due to the lack of PCS spectrum. As time goes by, T-Mobile should be a serious competitor to the big 2 (Verizon Wireless & at&t)

Unless he can show us the FCC stats to prove it, I will assume it is more of him talking out his ass.

Like his claim that VZW tries to deceive its customers by using the term "extended network".

He acts like signing up 1.8 million new customers is a bad thing, because it's taxing a system already on the brink of collapse!!!!

Plus tmobile has more spectrum!!!!!

I find it very strange that verizon has so little valuable EVDO spectrum, I'm not sure how all this works but it seems like verizon is in big trouble!!!

you must be 2 and just like to start sh&&t. I didn't say they were on the verge of collapse. All it does is slow down the network or you can't connect. Adding those is a good thing for the company. but not to end users. Ever try and make a call at a Nascar Race? Hard isn't it? To many people on the network!

Tmobile not only will have more spectrum but unused spectrum. Meaning their 3g data will not use the same as their voice. Which currently verizons does.

No!!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

So since every carrier (but verizon) has more spectrum and offers unrestricted unlimited data, how will verizon survive going into the future? The picture you paint makes their future look pretty bleak, care to clarify verizon future plans with limited restricted data on an over crowed network?

yeah what sprint is going to do and build a 4g network on its own spectrum. They jsut haven't decided what to use, LTE or something else.

April this year. Dover DE. Call went through just fine! Those darn COWS really help.

Oh, yeah...Poconos in PA two years ago. Of course my buddy with Nextel didn't have a signal! No Nextel at a Nextel race! We made fun of that for awhile.

The only thing that sucked about making a call at Dover during a race was all that background noise those cars make...

if their is a portable tower then you should be able to. Since they are mostly all doing that bad example! But my point is the more people the worse it will be for CDMA since CDMA does not limit the users on one tower and GSM does.I am not saying GSM is better as I know someone will say that!

It's just really weird to think that T-Mobile could have more spectrum than Verizon. Because no matter what coverage map you look at, T-Mobile always has significantly smaller coverage areas than any other national carrier. It's like they only want to stick to the main highways and major cities and not move away from that. Even if they get more spectrum, I'd be shocked if they'd use it! T-Mobile's been around forever and they're just now adding another tower in my area, which is very populated. All the other carriers cover a whole lot more areas, so T-Mobile doesn't have like any customers around here.

I guess it would just be extremely shocking to ever see T-Mobile have massive coverage in regular areas other than metro areas.

Again he failed to read what I was saying. Since the AWS and once they get it all from the govt they will have more spectrum then verizon at that point! I am sure verizon will win sone in this next auction!

shouldn't you be in school? When att purchased aloha spectrum it was all over the news they are the largest holder of spectrum once the deal goes through. Sprint has been the largest for a while. They have been sitting on some for a long time that they will deploy wimax on. Verizon will acquire some 700 so they can deploy their 4g wireless on.

Okay wom I found an interesting article, it doesn't support your tmobile has More spectrum than verizon..but it is interesting! All bs aside tell me what you think of its accuracy.

Running the Numbers: 700-MHz
Thursday, August 23, 2007
There is a total of 56 megahertz of spectrum available in the 700-MHz auction. The largest block (22 MHz) is divided into twelve geographic segments, two blocks of 12 MHz each will have 176 and 734 licenses for each segment and the final 10 MHz is for a single nationwide license to be shared with the Public Safety community. (An additional 6 MHz of unpaired spectrum is also available bringing the total to 62 MHz.)

Google and others are talking about bidding for this spectrum and the idea of b...

very interesting and nice find. I do however see they have not included sprint spectrum in their other band. I want to say its 2100 which they own enough to cover about 80 of what they have now (current network)with wimax. Sprint only operates 1900 right now. But remember its less crowded in the 1900 band and more spectrum is available in that band. However it also has its disadvantages like inside buildings. It is why sprint sees faster data speeds right now and is able to allow users to stream audio and video and really do whatever you want say replace your satalite internet with EVDO if available. My uncle did that in Virgina.

Also that article unless I missed it is talking about the AWS that is about to auctioned off. There was on...

Thanks for the reply! It will be really interesting to see who wins the bulk of the 700! and how it plays into the future.
