Do VZW and Sprint roam off each other in the New England area or anywhere else?

yes they do. Verizon is sprint 2nd choice. Alltel is the first were they have service.

Sprint doesn't roam off VZ, otherwise I'd have MUCH better service where I am in central IL. 👀 piss off, sprint fanboys; my experience, my current software/firmware, my new phone.

yes they do!!! Look at the PRL and maybe you will learn something! However if you are within range of sprint regardless how week it is it will not roam unless you force it to roam!

ooo, how exciting, forcing my phone to roam WHILE ON CALLS THAT GET DROPPED b/c Sprint's service isn't up to par in this area of IL.

I hope my point's been made...VZW rules up here.

yeah and down here in sc vzw sucks. So lets go back to the saying it all depends on were you live. And the poster wanted to know if they roam and yes they do which you said they didn't.

I hope my point has been made!

one other thing try and force your VZW phone to roam when you have a week signal oh what you can't only sprint allows that! Or maybe because vzw never has a week signal!

Talking about things you know little/nothing about is why people keep making fun of you. With a VZW phone you can force the phone to roam on another carrier, in fact you can with any CDMA phone. You just need to know the SID of the carrier you want to roam on in your area.

yes I know but you need to know what your doing. With sprint all you do is click and your done. You don't need to know anything. Verizon does not want you to do that so they don't make it easy. How many people know SID's. Come on I know what I am talking about so make fun all you want I don't care.

You have to know if you're in a market that you can even roam at all. Verizon has eliminated most of Sprint from their PRL. I forgot where roaming is still allowed, but that's getting smaller. Where Sprint used to be preferred, now it's usually Alltel or USCC (depending on market). Since Alltel made that big EVDO roaming agreement with Sprint, Verizon has eliminated some Alltel SID's from the PRL, and moved other Alltel SID's lower in priority. Chicago & Northern Indiana, it's service or no service. So for those in those areas; don't even think of roaming, unless you're on an AC I plan.

I wasn't the one saying you can with verizon. That was another saying I didn't know what I was talking about. With sprint all you do is put it on roam and your good. Verizon its possible but you need to know what your doing as like you stated you can incur some problems.

The point is you said that only sprint allows it, which is a flat out lie.

As for knowing SIDs it is something that if someone wants to be able to do it they can look it up. Unlike Sprint VZW doesnt need to make it a super easy to use option because they dont have the network problems Sprint does.

I did not know you could force a phone to roam. How do you go about that? Thanks for the response guys.

The way to force the phone to roam is dependant on the phone you have, it will be in the internal programing menu and will be named based on the phone make. It will most likely be called the SID or Sys ID, just set it to the carrier you want to roam on and your phone will use that SID first.

no sprint phones are easy. Go to settings and I can't remember what th eone to get to it but it should be easy to find. You will have 3 options: 1. sprint only, 2 automatic, 3 roam only! Click roam only and it will roam until you change it or restart the phone!

What does that say about what Sprint thinks of its own network if they make it that easy for their customers to not use it?
