I agree, calling something "white bread" isn't quite enough evidence to assume they're a racist.
But you went and assumed he was a liberal, which may not be the case either. I've heard conservatives make those kind of assumptions too... I had one a-hole call me an 'illegal immigrant' for my views on a forum once. The guy was a total tool. 😕

You know how it goes it is always the White bread problem when things go wrong. VZW Marketing is trying to cover all people in there advertisments. I would suppose if VZW advertised with cartoons that would be better not to offend somebody.
