I would like to update my antiquated Startac. Although the phone has been wonderful, I think its time for an upgrade.

I'm looking for a high quailty phone w/ voice dialing capablity. A small form factor is key, especailly a flat phone is preferred.

I've been using the Startac w/ slim battery which makes the entire phone 3/4" thick.

Money is no object, and I don't really care for a camera.

Please help.
Best Regards,
Boris

LGIC 7000 and Audivox 9900 would be your best bet. Their have all the extra bells and dings you don't want BUT the quality and coverage has been beaten. Also the Moto 710 has tested well.

If you're looking for good quality reception, in a stylish, lightweight phone, the LG 7000 or the Samsung A670 would be your best bet.
The LG 7000 is very loud and clear. The Samsung is more sleek looking and has great call quality and reception. (I have the Samsung myself and love it.)
Lot's of people say that the Moto V265 has the best reception; I'm not crazy about the style or the bad color display. Also, I know VZW seems to have a lot of problems with Moto products for some reason, so I'd wait a while before considering a Motorola phone from Verizon.
Your best bets are the LG or Samsung mentioned above. Both have good cameras which can come in handy to create your own wallpaper display.
Other than that, the camera's not that usef...

Thanks for the reply.

I believe I forgot to mention that I need a tri-mode phone. Often travel for extended periods of time from Delaware through Vermont. I have often encountered Analog only zones.

I believe I'm down to the Moto v265 or v260 (same phone w/o camera) or the Samsung SCH-a650.

How's the Moto 710 compare to either of these?

Boris

If you really need a phone with analog, then your options are limited. I tried the Samsung A650, but exchanged it after about a week because I found the keys too small for me, moving to the A670 (digital only). The call quality and reception were great, though. You might try it out and see how it works for you in the store.
The V265 is getting great reviews as a very practical, good reception phone; it also has a decent volume level. The bad things about this phone are the poor color display and the layout of the side keys and soft keys, which I found a bit cumbersome. Again, you might try out a live phone in the store. The Moto V710 doesn't have as good a volume as the V265, so that in loud places, you may have difficulty hearing. So, a...

I just bought the Audiovox 9900 and I love the phone. I have not had any dropped calls, the reception has been very good and the quality is also up there with other brands like Sanyo and Samsung. I had to go on a mission to get the 9900 but it was definitely worth it!

What did you do to get a 9900? Most everyone says its virtually impossible to get now.
