What I love about VZW reps...

(Myself Included) as soon as we get any info, we go blabbing it everwhere, whether it's right or wrong, and we refuse to be told we're wrong. For example, the gentleman who posted earlier who swears up and down the voyager does not need a nationwide plan, or the poster who claims you need the full $44.99 data package for the voyager. I love reading these posts cuz no matter what info a rep posts, no matter how many people have valid info to refute the original comment, the rep is always right. It's no wonder why people have misconstrued thoughts of vzw employees.

Another prime example, when the i760 was released, I had a customer who wanted it solely for wi-fi use. Before purchasing from me (indirect) he had been to a corporate location s...

Sales seems like such a hard job, not only do you have to know every product, new/old/current, you have to know the in's and out's including every little detail that some customer may ask... it would probably be easier to be a car salesperson.... few products to learn and very little changes over a 5, 7, 10 yrs span on a vehicle, plus you have a sticker on the window you can read. How many sales rep bust out with a manual or call the manufacture when they don't know?

Actually, they are not totally incorrect. On the technicality that wi-fi does not use airtime or KB, you are correct HOWEVER, the PDA devices are defaulted to use the broadband access and national access by default. There is no way to take them out of this default therefore IF a VZW network is available, there is not a way to make the phone use the wi-fi instead. That being said, what the sales people are saying they see on the bills is correct. Customer's come in saying that they used wi-fi and the bill was racked up. Where the confusion is, is that the customer's did not actually use wi-fi. Therefore, if the customer can find a market with wi-fi and no VZW, then they will default to wi-fi. Good luck finding that market. You may want to cla...

not an issue if they do a national access/data block.

From the M&P on Data Block Feature Code: "Desktop synchronization software (Palm HotSync or Microsoft ActiveSync), Bluetooth and WiFi is not affected by the Data Block feature code." "rigorous training" indeed.

Too bad I'm a chat rep and don't make commission, I'm not pushed to sell data.

What's great is we have two corporate stores in town, one apparently is VZW's highest grossing in the nation, and they are just crummy in regards to product knowledge and customer service. So any customer that comes in saying they had previously been shopping at one of these two locations usually has some bogus story about something a rep there told them they need. So I'm just happy to sell the phone that otherwise would have been a corporate sale. Thanks corporate guys! 😉

What's great is that I speak with customers around the country and I have to deal with a percentage of people (albeit small: roughly 10-15%) that end up with wrong information that a store rep told them.

Of course, there's always a chance that I think it's wrong only because my higher ups give me wrong information.

What's also great is that it's Thanksgiving and I'm working. Anyone else have to work instead of being able to spend time with your family? Customer Service isn't even open, but I have to be here dealing with idiots that can't even wait until after Thanksgiving to order. I'm not making commission, either. This sucks!

For normal phones internet and pix/flix are seperate blocks. There is a total block we can put on that is the same block that smartphones get, but normal phones block a larger veriety of stuff.

So you can have web access blocked where you cant get online but can still access GIN and pix. You can have application block put on so you cant access GIN. Blocking pix is a little tricky as it is tied into texting. A text block blocks all pix and text.

I am not sure if our systems still let us put non-pix message packages on phones with cameras, but it they do you could get the non-pix package and have the rep remove the pay as you go pix feature and that would stop pix from coming in.

But I think you were trying to ask if you could bl...
