Switching plans

I've been on a Family Share $170 plan since about a year ago. To preorder the Voyager, I first went to change to a Nationwide plan. However, I learned that the new Nationwide plan, equivalent to what I have now in minutes etc, came out at $190. Does this mean I'm gonna have to start paying an extra 20 dollars a month just to have the Voyager? (not to mention the extra 15 for unlimited data!). Is the Voyager the only phone that forces you to upgrade to the Nationwide plan? Or will it be all upcoming phones?

Lastly, I know it's been discussed a lot here, but I thought I'd ask for some fresh answers. My CSR told me I don't need to upgrade to Nationwide if I buy in-store. Is this true or was she just looking for a sale?

Thanks for your tim...

You will need to upgrade to nationwide to get the Voyager. However, I'm curious to know how a Nationwide plan with the same amount of minutes could be $20, when the rates are the same as the plans one year ago. The only difference is you are billed for the data you transfer instead of using airtime to move it. How many phones and minutes do you have now, for the sake of comparison?

And only the phones with the really good HTML browsers require the switch, but we'll be seeing more of those as time goes on.

On the old plans, with 3000 minutes, it's $150 for the first two phones, plus $10 per phone after that, totaling $180. Nationwide rates are the same, $150 for two plus $10 for each additional phone. The only difference is you will be charged $1.99 per MB for any data you transfer (ringtones, text, games), instead of using airtime when you transfer it. If you were quoted different rates for the new plan, someone was mistaken or misunderstood.

Yeah I see what you mean. I'm just gonna go check out the Voyager in the store tomorrow anyway, so I'll ask them then and possibly upgrade. Thanks for your help

I have the Voyager in my store. You have to change to nationwide to get one. Final Answer. I tried an ESN only change in Vision(the billing system) and it would not go throught, I tried to just do an upgrade in fastpath and it would not work either.

There is no other way to get the voyager then to switch your plan to the nationwide.

I got an email from my Account Manager yesterday that was an internal posting that said you MUST have Nationwide pricing for the Voyager.

For this $170 plan you are on now, I suggest you take a look at your bill to see what you are being charged for each line. If you just got on the plan a year ago it should be the exact same price breakdown as the Nationwide plans.

Is the 170 maybe after a discount from your employer? If so that discount will apply to your Nationwide plan as well as long as your employer hasnt let their contract becoming inactive.
