plan comparison

Currently I have a smartphone with a national calling plan and a data plan. If I were to change phones and get a non-smarphone with all of the bells and whistles (navigation, internet, text, etc) how would the prices compare?

Thx,
Joey

just go on vzw's website and configure the package you want for a normal phone. SHould take less than a minute to do.

I did as you suggested. The interesting result was that I could get the Pearl with all the features that my Moto Q data plan gives, plus the navigator, for less than I am currently paying. What features would I use if I gave up my MotoQ data plan and went to the Pearl basic data plan?

"what features would you use?"--im a little confused on your question.

Since they lowered the data plan price on BB's, they really are a great deal. I just switched to a BB 8703e a week and Im really enjoying it.

Just got off the phone with Verizon and there have been no changes to the Blackberry data plan prices.

The features I would want are:

1. the Web (including email from Yahoo and AOL). I like the web that comes with my current data plan

2. Navigation

3. limited texting

4. some kind of synchronization with my contacts so that I do not lose them

well...with a blackberry you would get unlm emails pushed to your handheld instantly. Unlm mobile web browsing and I believe on the BB pearl you can get navigation for additional 10 bucks. Texting is gonna priced at the normal package price.

Does that answer your question?

Email/web=30
Navi=10
Text= 10, 15, or 20

Yep, that answers it, you came up with the same as me. All that I would need to do now is test it to see if I get a good Internet connection. I have been quite happy with my moto Q Internet.

yeah, the internet on the Q is pretty solid...the blackberry is different, prolly not as robust. But it does the trick for me.

Happy hunting!

I was wondering about that. Do you have any idea why the Q might have a more robust internet connection than the Pearl?

thx

its not about the oonnection...its about software and the browser. THe Q has a pretty good internet browser. But what good is the browser when the rest of the phone doesnt perform that well.

Thank you. I have liked my Q, if it had wifi, Navigation, and an FM radio.....it would be awhile before I wanted anything more.
