Question about Verizon's purchase of Unicel (Rural Cellular Corp)

I live in Sioux Falls SD. Here we have Verizon service, and also a local Unicel GSM unlimited service. I just learned from someone that Verizon has purchased unicel (Rural Cellular corp) It stated on wikipedia (I know everything is not true but hey its worth asking) that Verizon was going to turn all of Unicels GSM customers to CDMA Verizon, and then save the GSM towers just for roaming from other carriers. Does this mean that the local GSM unlimited service in my are will be shut down?

Also another question. My aunt lives up in Brainerd MINNESOTA, which is highly Unicel CDMA and GSM coverage, and she uses for service. Does this mean that soon she will be switched over to verizon?

Thanks to anyone who knows!
