VZW reps really do love LG

I went into my newly remodeled Verizon corporate store today to get my battery tested for my moto w385. This is the second w385 that I have had (the 1st froze up) and like the 4th battery between the two phones. Anywho the rep tested the battery and it was bad....so he replaced it no probs. but I asked him what was the deal I was sick of coming in with at Bad battery...and he said "we are not suppose to bash any particular manufacturer..." and I said let me guess you don't like Motos....he said...well if I were you I would get an LG......I tried to explain to him that where I live LGs do not provide adequate reception and drop calls like crazy....(even with the env) and that the only ones I have had luck with are the Motos.....I guess all...

Motorolas generally get better reception than other manufacturers. I don't know why, but it's probably related to the fact that they've been making two way radios forever. Other than that, I can't remember a Motorola phone that didn't have a lot of problems. Maybe the Startac.

Wow dude...the Startac? You just HAD to bring that back. LOL I found that phone in Hopeline the other day, it cracked me up. "People still have these lying around?!"

I still have customers that use them because of the amazing reception they get.

The Startac can get a digital signal. Not the older ones, but there is a version of it that can. They just don't have the GPS in them for the E911 thing so they can't be reactivated.

so that one rep is proof that VZW reps love LG? thats a horrible example.

That said I do think your statement is true, a majority of VZW reps recommend LG because they seem to have less problems (there are exceptions like the original chocolate..) then the other phones.

Current LG phones I'd recommend:
5400 (tri-mode!, BOGO)
8350 (of course)
8550 (OMG did they improve on the chocolates)
8700
8800 Venus (battery life isn't the best though)
9900 (GREAT PHONE)

The jury is still out on the 10k

Motorola?
Krazr

Nothing else, really...

True, plenty of people have. I'd still recommend it (pending the phone is up to date on software)

I noticed that Motorola has a K1m software update download that you can download off their website and flash your phone from your computer at home. The software skin looks a lot like the one that is used in the stores. I asked why it wasn't available for the V3m and was told something about the V3m having a different mms software for the music player.(from a Vzw level 3 tech).....

I guess all the rumors are true.

I don't think you can really blame VZW reps for liking LG over Moto.

If the Motos constantly end up coming back (and a lot of 'em seem to), and cause you a lot of irate customers, and the LGs don't, you're probably gonna start recommending the LGs.

It's not the reps fault that Moto keeps screwin' the pooch on quality control. ☚ī¸

I have always used Motorola phones and have had battery problems with every one except the Star Tac. I have used the T-720/T-730/V-60/E-815 and have had the KRZR for a little over a year. My Krazr is on its third battery as of last night.
In comparison I had a Treo 600 and 650 prior to my Treo 700W. I haven't had to replace the 700W battery yet and activated it in February or March 2006.
My Moto kicks arse when it comes to reception but lacks in battery reliability while my Treo has a mind of its own and doesn't get a great signal at times and drops calls where the KRZR doesn't.
As far as LG???? I have had girlfriends and an ex wife using them as well as my family and they didn't always have the best experiences with signal and reliabi...

Well I've gotta say that since I've been with Verizon, I've only ever had an LG or a Samsung and the voice quality and reception on all of my phones has been exceptional no matter where I'm at. I did at one point try out a Motorola, but it didn't have the features that the LG phone had, so I later switched. I really noticed no clear difference in call reception.

When it comes to GSM phones, I would say that Motorola has better reception, or Nokia's. But I still don't care for that annoying buzzzzz.
