When can I start activating a Sprint phone on my VZW phone number? I read something about it but wasn't sure when I can do it. I got a Sprint RAZR2 (which is cooler than VZW's) and I want to activate it ASAP.

I am interested in this too. My uncle has Sprint and change phones frequently (he finds something he hates in each phone).

If you can find somebody from sprint that will give you the security code for the manual programming and the esn isn't blocked by verizon I don't see why you couldn't. Just get the esn changed and it will just need manually programmed. Can't guarantee what features would work but you should at least be able to make calls

The ESN has to be loaded in verizon system. At this time Verizon will not activate any phones that are not assigned already to verizon. The system needs to be set to add ESN of other cdma providers phones. The same goes for sprint. CDMA does not use sim chips.

Actually, you are somewhat right. VZW can activate phones that are not VZW branded if they are on the company's approved phone list for non branded devices and the phone is unlocked.

That is what I meant by the esn being blocked, it has to be loaded into the vzw system.. I think a lot more esn's are loaded than you might think. I think if its a like model it is probably already in there. A couple of months ago I activated a Ntelos razr with no problem, I still really have no clue where Ntelos is or has service but oh well it worked.
