Phone wanted without camera

Eric Lee Elliott

Will VZW or Alltell soon sell good phones without camera? A Moto V3 without camera would do for me.
I want a phone w/o camera, with BT, memory slot, calendar, calculator, vibrate, alarm & in small shape to carry in pocket.
Closest phones are either $500 pocket computers, Blackberries or have cameras.
If I was stupid enough to carry a computer without security & always connected to Internet, I still would not pay $500 for phone-computer that would not survive in my pocket. Blackberry too expensive, fragile & long. Cameras are not allowed in most places I work.
My phone is my pocket watch, calculator, calendar, alarm & phone. Vibrate is a must in high noise work lacations. So how do I get it w/o a camera?

I think Motorola is releasing the 325xi soon, which is basically a 325i without a camera. Should have bluetooth and most or all of the other things you mention.

Don't know of any hard release dates, perhaps someone else here has an idea?

VZW won't admit to having any new phones coming with BT, without camera. Just spent last 44 minutes on phone twice & chat twice with VZW, got not even a hint of phones to be with BT & calendar, without damned camera.
Will research Moto 325xi now.

A very good place to go for advance info on phone releases is HowardForums. Good luck.

But I read on this same topic on Howard Forums, that the G'Zone without camera is a business only phone as well. So unless he can get a manager to make an exception, then that phone isn't available to personal accounts either. I personally think selling phones without cameras to just business accounts is ridiculous. There are people out there who don't want cameras, or work at places where cellphones might be allowed, but can't have cameras on them, and want them on their own personal account.

That was already discussed above in another reply. But the UTStarcom G'Zone without camera is also only for business customers only. As I mentioned, it's a stupid policy to only allow the sale of the cameraless versions of the phones to business customers, and force the camera phones onto users who don't want a camera phone. I would prefer not to have a camera phone myself.

I'll have to look into this myself. From what I've read on hofo, both the UTStarcom G'Zone w/o camera & the Motorola V325xi are business only phones. So far, I haven't found that info on VZW's website.

Eric, I received this reply over at HowardForums regarding the Moto 325xi:

Its actually out now but is a B2B (business-to-business)-only phone. You may be able to get someone from telesales or a rep in a store to order it for you from the warehouse, however.

Hope that helps. 😎
