I have to go in tonight to Verizon and return my BB pearl just a pain with reception.

So what should I get for a "PHONE" that is my main thing.
What would you recommand I need something that has good reception and can hold on to a call in low areas. I have considered the razr 2 v9, the lg8550, the venus, phone needs to have a camera. And I do text but not a ton.

Help please 🙂

I think both phones you're considering are a good option. My friend has the 8550 and I must say it is worlds apart from the first chocolate. It has solid RF and they worked out the flaws with the touch buttons. The razr 2 does looks sharp, the test calls I made on it seemed great. I have the 8350 right now its a great phone...small, solid RF, an all around great little phone...maybe another option to consider 🙂

I apprectiate it gunny. I think I am going into night to try out some of the phones. My other main thing is ear piece volume. I am hard of hearing served 8 years in the army and my hearing was effected so I need good clear sound thats what sent me looking at the Razr2

Yeah I think that's always the best thing to do. I like going to the different stores to check out all the phones. I'll just start picking them up and making test calls to the wife. Hell I don't care which carrier it is I love cell phones, I hit up all the different stores. The best ear piece volume that I have ever came across is still my gzone, I know you're not considering that, just sharing. Ater you peep it, Let us know what you think of the razr2 😉

I will keep you informed with what I get. It is hard decision. Verizon has been great with trying differnt phones. I will probably get the Razr 2. But will go out tonight to check things out.

Say it aint so! lol

I would try that razr 2...its a gorgeous phone with a solid keypad. Maybe the new LG 8350 as well. Seems like a pretty solid performer.

I feel ya on the reception...I always like to take my phones off of evdo to help get betta reception. I hate how these new phones are constantly searching back and forth for a signal from evdo or 1X.

Good Luck!

Haha, I do the same thing with going into different carriers stores and playing with their phones. I wondered how many others did too.
What phone are you using now guns?

sup man, im using the lg 8350 right now, but the more the i use it the more i hate it. at first i thought the RF was as good and the 8300 but i don't think so now. i dunno i want a new phone bad right now and the only thing moderately appealing to me is the razr 2 😢 im hard to please 😁 i am just burnt out on verizon all together but i get that way lots, after almost ten years i just want a complete change. oh well it's my money right? 😁 I like sprint's touch and the att curve, the tribulation of a cell junkie 😁 C'mon open access!!!

Ok if you need a phone with good sound to accommodate your hearing loss, you cannot go wrong with the:
RAZR V3 (has very loud sound)
KRZR (also good sound)
RAZR2 (good too)
8350 (good loud sound)

Stay away from the LG 8700 - I had it for 6 months and had to dump it. Beautiful phone but at high volume, the earpiece distorts and defeats the purpose of using it as a phone.
Shame you cannot get the Blackberry to work because they currently have the BEST earpiece sound in terms of tonal quality and volume.

Good luck and let us know what you get.
Remember, whatever you return - you are only allowed 1 exchange so make it a good, well informed choice.

Happy Holidays

Good Choice. I also think that if you get a copy of the music essentials (or someone here might have a web link) it installs the ability for you to charge your RAZR2 from your pc or laptop USB port.
I charge mine when I travel for business so I don't have to take a bag-o-chargers with me.

My Verizon KRZR and my Business 8830 Blackberry both use it.
