Bill Clinton Uses iPhone, His Tongue to Communicate

I am a republican, and I don't really like Clinton. I am an avid Verizon customer.

What I don't like though is all of the publicity that the iPhone is getting. When is the 'iPhone killer' going to be released by Verizon, and where is Motorola? The Voyager sure didn't cut it.

Why do you say that the Voyager didn't cut it? Has it been that awful? The only thing I've read here, in this forum, is how hard it is to find one. I think Vz is feeling the heat on this due to using CDMA. I think Lg didn't make as many as needed because they just didn't know and couldn't afford for it to flop. That phone looks like it was expensive to manufacture.

It's a brick, 60% thicker, doesn't have Wi-Fi, no Predictive Text Entry, no Email Client. The UI is no match for the iPhone either.

Sure there is a supply-demand shortfall right now, but it is now because everybody wants a clunky Voyager.

you sound like an at&t troll to me.

vzw doesnt have to release a phone that you deem an "iphone killer". we turned down the iphone when it was offered. if you want the phone so bad go to at&t

VZ did not "turn down" the iPhone. They didn't like the iPhone concept. When Apple went to Vz to offer the iPhone they went to them with ideas and sketches, not the device as it is today. Maybe Vz didn't believe in the product, because they failed to see what the outcome was going to be/become.

VZ knew the iPhone was going to be a huge hit. VZW just wasnt willing to bend over like at&t has. I mean not only did you guys give up control of everything for that phone you even pay apple a monthly rate for each user that has one, thats pretty rediculous and if at&t was smart they would of said no to.

Well it should not be that bad for them since the phone was not heavily subsidized. I think it was a win-win for both companies considering how much of a rip off the plan actually is.

Meh. 0.7" thick is hardly a brick, and most ppl are okay with it being a bit thicker than the skinniest phone 'cuz they get a real QWERTY keyboard to type on, rather than the iPhone's sketchy virtual one. Ever typed on that thing? It's a royal pain. 😳

doesn't have Wi-Fi,

Bummer. But by the same token, the iPhone doesn't have 3G. If you ain't near a WiFi hotspot, EDGE is pretty darn slow.

no Predictive Text Entry, no Email Client.

I agree, not too cool. But at the same time, the iPhone has no MMS (whaaa?), no GPS, no voice-dialing, and bluetooth that's so limited that it'd make VZW at its most restri...

Actually it does have predictive text, its called T9.

With Verizons email pack for $5 a month I have 7 different emails of mine on there. It works beautifuly.

Its also thicker because of the full QWERTY keyboard that the iDud doesnt have.

An oh yeah, I can send a picture with my Voyager.

Voyager is sounding better and better. 🙂

Guess wrussell didn't research it too well before he slammed it, but I took him at his word.

You should know me better than that. I slammed the iPhone in January as soon as it was announced. I still would not want one.

Verizon is doing a fine job with opening up the functions on their handsets. It's just taking too long. Question remains - Where is Motorola? You would think they would have something comparable by now.

I'm just loyal to Verizon and Motorola. The V9m is awesome with the generic Motorola flash and the new skins. It can do anything I want except Wi-Fi and touch screen.

The V710 is the only Moto I was dissapointed with. If they made a Q with Wi-Fi and a touch screen in lieu of keyboard I think it would be a winner.

Maybe. I took mine back within 15 days, but if Motorola took that large keyboard off and delivered a touch screen interface with 320 x 480 pixels and keep 11mm thickness it would be worth looking at.

The topic of the OP was that Voyager isn't the iPhone killer. LG tried to do that and Mororola has yet to.

Meh, the Voyager is doing well. It's getting good reviews and its actually pretty hard to even get your hands on one.

I also really doubt "VZ is feeling the heat on this due to using CDMA". 🤣 CDMA is more popular in the US than crappy outdated GSM, and VZW has been doing well as a CDMA carrier for years, so why would this be a problem?

ATT trolls are silly.

Exactly. VZW is doing exceptionally well and it hasn't even made any major acquistions to account for it's great success in subscriber growth. Sure AT&T may have a few million more subscribers, but they've merged with how many companies? VZW and AT&T are essentially neck and neck. One has 63.7 million, the other 67.3. Ooohh. Big difference. Plus, CDMA is a more dominant technology in the US do to it's faster data speeds and better voice quality. Americans are able to see that GSM isn't all it's cracked up to be (voice and data wise).
