So I am here at work and i get a call from "206"...thats it..nothing more. I did not get a voicemail. I called verizon to see if they called me and they show no record. My account is 15 days past due. Anybody have an idea of what this is??

Yeah, this one wasnt 000-000-0000...it came up 206 and unfortunately I was on my business line so I couldn't answer. No voicemail was left. Has anyone ever had this happen? Could it have been an automated thing from Verizon cause I'm past due?

No, Mr. Rude. I had an unexpected expense come up and I have to wait for my next paycheck to pay both months. But thanks for being rude.

weird. I'm wondering if 000-000-0000 is just another way of your phone saying Restricted? Although I don't know why it wouldn't just say it.

damn that number.

The 2006 you saw on your CID might, and I stress might, have been the circuit ID of a PRI voice circuit. Some businesses program their PBX to only transmit PRI ID digits, not number ID or DNIS digits. If you use your cell for work, it could have been a customer or client calling who simply decided not to leave a message.

It's a spam phone number. See the following link: http://www.joewein.net/spam/spam-phone-number s.htm

Yeah I read that. The problem is...it only comes up as "206", no other numbers. I can't figure it out.

000-000-0000 is almost always the ID of a one-way ISDN PRI. It usually is used for outbound calling only, voice or fax broadcast. There is no phone number displayed because inbound calls cannot be connected. With some equipment and some trickery a spammer might be able to show all 0's as a phone number.
Chances are the calls people see with all 0's are from one-way PRI circuits.

May just be telemarketer (spoofing) or a collectors extension. 😉

DoctorJ took the words right out of my mouth. Alot of telemarketers have to display something on the caller ID which explains why you will sometimes get a call from your own number, or something strange such as "206". It is very easy to spoof caller ID, especially when you use internet phone service. I wouldn't worry about it too much, just don't pick up when it happens. Register @ the donotcall.gov website. No good to call VZW as they will open a trouble ticket and it will only come back saying that it is difficult to control caller id spoofing.

It's probably an extension number. If I call someone from my desk phone at work, it will show my 4 digit extension number on caller ids.

Could be a friend or spouse calling you from their desk phone at work and decided not to leave a voicemail mesg.

I get calls from my company that will show as just 513. That's the area code for one of our bigger locations, a warehouse and office space in Cincinnati. Most likely a feature of the PBX, the PBX at the site I work at is set to send the phone number (it helps that the site has its own exchange) from which the call originates.
