has anyone had a problem with people calling them on verizon and getting a "disconnected" service message? Customer Service said there is nothing is wrong with my account, and every time they trouble shoot it, the disconnect message doesn't come up its just every so often. Anyone else have this issue?

I have been disconnected from CS a few times, but it's usually if I'm being transferred. Is that what you're talking about?
...
Not exactly. I get this "user has disconnected service" message sometimes when i call my own voicemail to receive messages. I mentioned this to a couple of friend they have also said they get this message sometimes when they call me. They know better and call me back and usually the call goes through. Every time i call customer service at verizon, they try to duplicate the problem to get the message, but the call always goes through for them.

Oh, weird. I've seen that happen to a few customers in the past. It's usually a problem in the switch, but I've never seen it fix itself. I've always had to call in to get it fixed. Not sure what to tell you.

so im assuming you work for verizon... not that i havent been happy with the service, but i just need to have something that works and is reliable... I am in marketing and my number is given out to many potential customers. I need to make sure a customer does not get this message and does not know better than to call me back. I have expressed this to customer service many times, and as helpful as they have been, they dont seem to care. Is there a different tear of trouble shooting i can do? or talk to a manager?

Not really. You could try to get through to tech support, but it's hard to troubleshoot a problem when you can see it happening. If they don't get the "user disconnect" message, they won't be able to see the problem and won't be able to troubleshoot it.
To get tech support, call 1-800-922-0204, option 3.

It's hard to troubleshoot a problem when you can't see it happening. Sorry.

im sure they think im nuts, since they cant duplicate the problem. everytime i have that issue, i call so they can make a note on my account. They must think im NUTS and a nag over at VCS. Or they think im just trying to get out of my contract. I just want a service that will be reliable âšī¸

The only other thing I could think of would be to change your phone number, but you probably don't want to do that. Tech support should be able to completely rebuild your account in the switch. That might fix it too, but they might not be willing to do that if they can't see the problem.

I believe the "rebuild in the switch" idea should clear up the problem. You'll just need to get a good rep that really understands what you're saying.

Port your number to at&t... 30 day trial. if you dont like it, take it back to crapizon..

Thanks for that enlightening, helpful post.

In my professional experience I've seen this happen when the network is busy or a landline carrier is experiencing issues with a prefix for cell phone carriers sometime certain local switches don't load all prefixs. Try to determine what carrier even if it's verizon's that people are trying to call you from. Then relay this to tech support and keep track of it as well. At a certain point they can open a trouble ticket if there is documentation to support it. Hope that helps! đ

Have you checked your Call Forwarding?? It happens more then often that customers so how accidently active the immediate call forwarding feature.. its a simple fix..
And when is this happening?? When you call your Voicemail??
...
What you want to figure out is if it comes from a certain source.
By that, I mean, are all the calls this occurs with coming from a land (home/office) phone? -or- Are they coming from a specific Cell carrier? -or- Are they coming from a particular area code/prefix?
Also, is the disconnected recording tagged at the end with 'Verizon Wireless'another carrier's reference or nothing?
Reason being, when you get a message but it doesn't happen all the time or to everyone, it's likely what the tech part of the industry call 'trunking' (simple explanation: connections between carriers of all types). Some part of these connections has possibly gone wrong. If, for instance, it isn't happening when you call 'Verizon to Verizon' and never happe...
