A question about all digital vs. trimode

I have been told by a Verizon manager that an all digital Verizon phone has a greater range than does a trimode Verizon phone in its digital mode, because the trimode phone will switch to analog at a point where the all digital phone will continue to pick up a digital signal. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is true, will an all digital phone work in some of the areas deemed analog on the Verizon map?

it is true that a digital phone will get a better span on the digital network but it will not work in an analog area so if you travel alot you would be better off getting a trimode

That is true while being on the Digital network. however , when traveling into or near an analog based area your phone wil lose al digital features as well as up to service. So it is better off getting a Tri-Mode phone.

So why would one ever choose an all digital phone over a trimode phone? Is there anything a trimode phone is lacking that would be present on an all digital phone?

You don't have to force your Lucky Goldstar 6100 to CDMA. It is CDMA.
