RF on Blackberry compared to standard cell phones

1st off thank you everyone for answering my questions i had all last year.

This past several months I have changed phones a million times I think.

I had several BB's but always seemed to have different issues with them. Maybe I am just to picky not sure. The Bb seemed to have RF problems and i couldn't make calls or keep calls at times but my wifes cheap LG phone could still make and receive calls?

I guess my questions to you folks is the RF on all PDA PHONES/BB's not good? I really miss my BB push emails that was nice but wife and family was upset when they either couldn't get a hold of me (Phone would not ring or let me know I had a call) or 2 I couldn't hold a call when the signal got weak like when you are in a store or a shoppi...

Scott,

I really like my BB for signal strength...I know my area sucks for vzw, but the BB has been one of the better performers ive tried over the past two years.

Get your wife a BB then you can just send emails to each other, lol.

Its the microphone on the BB 8830 and most other blackberries. The microphone doesnt do a very good job of noise cancelling if there is any background noise.

Ah I see I did not know that so maybe slines has legitimate concerns then, maybe he is mistaking the microphone issue for poor RF.

I have met slines personally and he actually lives near me in Madison, WI.

The area we live in isnt the best for EVDO coverage and the signal is weak. This is most likely why he is having concerns about coverage. Verizon is great in Madison, but like most carriers, you can't be great in every square inch of any city.

Chris is right we live close to each other. And I have determined that has to be the case. I am going back to my Pearl I can't live without a Blackberry. It kills me since I got so used to the BB email and Fast web.

I did try the razr2 out nice phone poor battery life great reception no matter were I went had it 2 weeks.
Verizon has been outstanding with there service only problem I have had was reps on the phone didn't know about the 29.99 email and data unlimted plan.

Thanks everyone you are always great to chat with 😁
