Interesting article about Microsoft's plans for Windows Mobile 7 OS:

With many features dubbed "iPhone compete", WM7 is all about effective uses of the touch screen, finger gestures, and additional motion gestures. Microsoft's put a lot of thought into how to make the mobile phone interface more intuitive and easier to use, even more so than Apple's iPhone. WM7 is surroundings aware, and movements of the physical phone are part of the user interaction with the phone. From Nathan's blog post...

You know the stories about people tossing their Wii controllers all over the place playing games..... Just think of people doing that with $300 phones.... "change you stupid song.. -shake shake- CRASH!!!

The "I have one too" phone is already dead. The "cool" factor is gone and the implementation is more Verizon like than any GSM phone.

While msn is working on a os to trump apple, wouldn't it be logical assumption, that apple is improving their os as well? I know it only ran on edge, but still, it's a nice os. I did a comparison with my voyager at an att store yesterday. The web is so much smoother from transitioning from page to page. My optimized web was about 15-30 sec slower than the iphone on edge. Not what I would have thought 3g to edge. Then again, I don't know the processor peeds on each phone.

and we all know how that turned out. Microsoft has great ideas, but they always fail the accomplish them in a succesful manner.
Bottom line, the iPhone won't be eclipsed any time soon.
