Upgrading phone question - time limits

Supposedly the LG8000 is coming out in the middle of January. When I signed my last contract I did a 2 year plan instead of my normal 1 year. I know with the 1 year plan I was able to upgrade my equipment after 10 months.

Question is do I actually have to wait 1 year on the two year plan which comes up in March or can I upgrade the phone after 10 months. I'm not changing the length of contract, just the equipment.

Thanks!

You qualify for your next discount after 22 month on a 2 year and 10 months on a one year contract. Some markets allow an eary upgrade after 12 months if you are on a 49.99 plan or higher. What state do you live in?

In some markets they have tried to standardize the policy. As sidallen noted, in some areas you can automatically upgrade at the two year contract price after only one year if you are on a calling plan that is above a certain threshold price point. But you need to get a rep that knows the policy, or they'll still tell you "you're not eligible."

In some markets, there is...
