Verizon bailed on Bluetooth V710?

Are there any new full Bluetooth phones coming out by VZW or did they toss in the towel on all of the owners of Bluetooth cars with that need, like they did on the V710?

All of the forums at HoFo and V710.org are shutting down at the end of the month.

Lacking support from Motorola, Verizon and now the pressure on the user groups from them, and probably lawyers, looks like massive bailout for those with new cars with need for cell phone integration?

Motorola is refusing to give the ETA on the patch to enable phonebook transfer.

You must not have a newer car with the in-dash address book.

Do you mean all of the forums on the V710?

Yes. Too much talk and not enough bandwith.

The V710.org site now says:

PLEASE READ!!!

Hello members. Due to server and bandwidth cost, this forum will be closing at the end of January 2005. Thanks for all your support.

If you are interested in taking it over or donating to help keep it going please contact us or send a paypal donation to [email protected].

I have a new Acura TL, and it's great how I can make and receive calls through my Sony Ericsson T68i (T-Mobile). Just push the button on the steering wheel and talk. It automatically mutes the radio.

I've also used it with a friend's Motorola V600 (ATT/Cingular).

Did Motorola just never test such Bluetooth connections with the V710? They obviously have the technology, since the V600 works fine.
