Sprint and Vz

waddaya think the liklyhood of vz picking up sprints assets is? given they both work in the cdma band and all. perhaps some kind of bail-out or outright buyout.

The only way this would happen is if someone comes in and sells off Sprint in pieces. Verizon does not want to run 4 networks. Their CDMA and coming LTE with Sprint's PCS CDMA, Nextel's iden, and coming WiMax. If someone came in and sold off their assests, VZW might pickup their PCS and spectrum, but the iDen and WiMax would go with someone else.

I assume Verizon would only be interested in spectrum. If Sprint were to die, it's the spectrum that would be key.

However, with Hesse firing the executive staff, I wouldn't be counting SPrint out quite yet...50+mil sub allows for a little fight back..it just may take a while.

remains to be seen....
