When will ALL service be digital?

What is the time line for all digital verizon service. When I got my phone 2 years ago the rep told me in a year, well you can see that didn't happen. When will there be no more analog towers and digital in their place?

The government is aiming that all analog be phased out by year-end 2007. Much of Verizon's coverage on their map is analog service, which is why many people go with Verizon. For the "just in case of an emergency" coverage.

As for Verizon replacing the lost coverage with digital service, this may take a considerable time-frame since analog signals travel much farther from a single tower. Verizon will need to start building more towers and upgrading all the existing analog ones with CDMA techonogy, which won't be easy.
