of course they will. If your out of contract they can't force you to keep paying if you want to cancel

the only way you can cancel mid month is if your port out. if you cancel now the cancelation will be future dated to the end of the billing cycle. your final bill will come and will not have new service charges.

this (future dating cancellation) is in the terms of service which you signed.

I stand corrected. Not the first time. But I think that is crappy business on their part.

Not true, you can cancel when you want to...yes the minutes as well as monthly plan charge will prorate, so ck where you are on your minutes first to make sure the "prorate" won't cause you to billed overage. You can cancel when you want contrary to what some say! If you demand it, it will happen.

incorrect, you may cancel at any time but you will be billed for the whole cycle of usage (ie the cancellation will be future dated as far as billing goes, but the line will cancel that day), this has been a MANDATORY policy since 02/06/06.

It depends if you are still in contract or out of contract. If you are still under contract you will be billed and service will continue to the end of the billing cycle. If you are out of contract it can be terminated right away and pro-rated.

I have had customers cancel immediately with a prorated amount sent as a final bill; reps usually try to say that it's not possible, but it is, and VZ's policy is not just shady, but not customer-friendly to those that are easily intimidated. they're cancelling, they already are unhappy with some part of VZW, and now unless they happen to call in on the billing date, they will be strong-armed into paying for more services than they would use.
