Get off Family Share Plan, start an individual line - HELP!

Ok, here goes...

I am currently on a Family Share plan and my 2-year contract is up. I want to get off of that plan and start my own Individual Line. I went to the store and was told I would not get any discounts on phones, but if I did it online I would get the special price for opening a new line. If I did it in the store, the phone would be $179.99, but online it is $79.99.

My question is...how can I go about doing this? I could just start a brand new line, but lose my phone number, and then cancel my Family Share Plan. I cannot figure out how to do it on the website so I get the best deal on the phone.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

you just need to call *611 and cancel your second line. then pick your calling plan. once thats done visit your store, order online, or order thru care your new phone.

Won't I lose my number in that case? I would really like to keep it if it's possible.

Is the line in your name? If so then do what the original poster said, cancel the lines you don't want, or just make both lines a single plan.

If its not in your name perform an assumption of liability. Have the account holder call Verizon and release liability for that line. You will be required to move to current pricing and accept a minimum od a 1 year term. However you keep your upgrade date and your phone number and after its done its your account to do what you want with it.

Did that help?
