How Fast is FAST? PDA Users Look...
if your're using a pda to connect to the internet, please check out this website and test your speed...I'm curious to know what carrier has the fastest internet speed for pdas.

That's the only site I know of that tests mobile browser speeds. Please respond with your carrier, city and equipment...thanks!!

Verizon, Chicago, Blackberry Pearl 8130. When I chose either of the two smaller files I got an error message "unstable/too fast a result-choose a larger file." When I chose the 1 MB file I got 1632 kbit/sec

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that I received this message when I went to download the file: Blackberry browsers do not support javascript. Opera mini can be installed on a blackberry, however, the blackberry network diverts all web traffic via proxy servers, which strip pages of 'un-necessary' data before sending them to your device! This speed test relies on 'un-necessary' data to calculate download speed.
Since I have a Blackberry, the result I received may be artifically lower.

wow...that's a really fast connection. like I said, mine's close to 1mbps. I wonder if verizon is launching EVDO-revision B in your area...

Rev B is not something VZW has launched. Besides... to use Rev B or even Rev A... You need a Rev B or Rev A device. Only Aircards are Rev A at this time. Some PDA's are Rev A upgradable, but none are Rev A now. If Verizon go Rev B before the LTE launch you will see some news on Phonescoop's main page saying who is providing the chipset for vzw Rev B infrustructure, I.E. Alcatel-Lucent
Currently, all VZW's EVDO network is Rev A.

They're actually not supposed to be because of the way they send and receive data. For some reason my results are fast.
