I heard that PIX/FLIX messages work slightly different on blackberry products. How so? I am waiting for my Pearl to come (couldn't wait for the Curve).

who said they work differently? Im guessing its pretty much the same as a regular phone.

Call a verizon store and ask to customer service rep if you need a definitive answer. But I don't think there is much of difference.

They probably mean if you get a BlackBerry without a camera like the 8830. With that you obviously can't take pictures and send them, but if someone sends you a "picture message" you can't open it the way you normally would, you have to basically access it through the web. This was how my old 8703 was, and I think the 8830 is the same.

I have a Pearl and with that it's the same as a regular camera phone, so you should be fine if you're used to that!

All smartphones transmit pix messaging differently. The benefit of this is that you can send pix from extended network without having to migrate to nationwide pricing.
