The C Block is divided by region. Verizon picked up all 6 regional blocks on the mainland and Hawaii to make 7. The C block was the most important because it allows for covering more markets with fewer licenses. I guess Verizon decided to agressively bid on Chicago since they were forced to divest most of the PCS B block in 1999, and AT&T (then Cingular Wireless) holds a lot of PCS spectrum from the original AT&T Wireless in 2004.
So for my market, only 35mhz is being used now (cellular B & PCS). They haven't built out an AWS network yet, and not sure when they...
