LG VX7000 Went Up In Price?!?!?!

👿 I see that the plans changed, but the VX7000 went up in price (less rebate) by $30 and the Motorola V265 looks like it got more expensive.

What else changed? What gives? What will change by mid-March when I switch?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but prices fluxuate ALL the time. Last year for example, the Lg6000 camera phones were $29.99 BOGO the week before Mother's day. The week after it more than doubled... Even now, with the phone in closeout it's $119.99 - $50 MIR.

Such is life, my friend...

Will it change for the better by March 15th?

When can I get a VX8100?

Thanks,
Dan

Unforunately I don't know anyone who would know in advance what will happen to the prices, but I would assume it will go down with the release of new phones on 2/01/05. And, as the bearer of bad news again, unfortunately... I do not expect the 8100 soon. the 8000 is one launching 2/01/05 and reviews of a friend of mine, say it's quite good (esp for an LG)

Yeah, it may go down on Feb. 1st... 😁

If I don't care about VCast, should I get the VX8000? It's $15 more per month for VCast - is there an additional charge for each video downloaded? 😛

No, not for each video downloaded. only if you d/l music videos (because of the royalties). As for whether or not to buy it... why not? You'd prefer the LG7000? Guess it would depend on what you want to spend on the phone. Might you want VCAST down the road? Then you might want the 8000... ::shrug::

What exactly is on VCast now and down the road? Is it good?

VCAST is very cool, but obviously marketed to the mass market and youth (age 16-24). Includes currently streaming video clips from places such as CNN, MTV, VH1 and others. Also 3D gaming and soon multiplayer 3D gaming. In the future, some companies are going to sell up to 20 live-feed channels, but for now they are just video clips updated many times per day... Of course future stuff is all speculation.
I can say that the video really is streaming (I've tried it) and really quick for data transfers and POP3 e-mail use as well as Web access...

Overall, VCAST is just the first step in a new age of wireless techonology...
