How many people use this? Seems to me that the prices are ridiculously lower than in the store. Just priced the G zone at the store and it was $149.99 with a $50 mail in rebate.
Came home and see it online for $79.99 without having to mail in the rebate form.
This reason only (I wouldn't use the online feature for anything else), would you recommend it? Obviously it will save me money, but just curious how many of you use the online account feature.
...
To answer your question, many people use the My Account website. You can view and pay your bills online, make account changes, do pretty much everything you can do with Customer Service from the comfort of your own home. As for the price differences...there are times that online runs a seperate promotion than in store and they will not be honored in store. The other thing you have to look at when it comes to the G'Zone is did you look at the right one. There is a PTT version and a non-PTT version as well as a non-camera version...which of course can translate to a price difference.
...
PTT? No, I didn't notice which one it was in the store nor did I notice online. PTT is push to talk, correct? What exactly is this feature? I mean, it's a flip so obviously you open it to answer. PTT???Care to explain? Sorry for being so phone ignorant.
...
PTT is Push To Talk yes. It is the service Nextel made a name for and has been tried to be copied since then (to break into that market) but hasn't succeeded. Verizon, like Spring and AT&T, has a PTT option available just because, but doesn't promote it at this point. The difference between the G'Zone with PTT and without PTT is minimal...just the feature. PTT can be added to any plan for $10 a month when you have a PTT phone. The biggest difference (though not so sure about it with the G'Zone) is battery life. PTT tends to drain the battery a bit faster. FYI...amuse your friends by putting the G'Zone on speaker, dropping it into a beer and calling it. The reactions are quite amusing.

so i take it the g'zone is water (beer) resistant? i work for vzw and know the g'zone is suppose to be able to take a beating, but dropping it in liquid?
...
It can sustain up to 3.3 ft (1 meter) of liquid for a period of time (i forget how long). However, you have to live with the smell of putting it into beer.

1 meter for 30 minutes, or until you revive from your drunken stupor.
...
what's with the 30 minute count? that's just odd to me.
and it's also odd that someone hasn't come up with a totally waterproof phone when we've had so many advancements in technology over the past 10 years.
Don't put your phone in beer.

if you do think of the amount of drunk calls it'll make to all your ex girlfriends.

G'Zone in store is $129.99 w/$50 rebate - mirrors the online price except we have the MIR and it's instant on line. Of course, you don't get instore help online.

I always recommend doing any kind of upgrade online, not only do you get the online pricing, but you dont have to deal with the AHOLES in the store. Trust me i work for the company, they usually F more accts up then help them. ๐

im guessing your work for the store? maybe a pep talk with your collegues would help, stop calling us.
...
why the hell would we call you for an upgrade?
...
๐คจ Lol you reps call us all the time to "just change contract end dates" like the customer came into your store requesting that. Get real you guys call us all the time to get the dates changed so you can just do an upgrade and get your payout. Not to mention other ridiculous stuff.
...
Well i guess i'll have to try that one ;) just make sure you answer the phone
