EnV questions, need lots of help.

My youngest son decided that his EnV needed to go for a swim in our pool. NO insurance, Mom caved and bought her BABY a new Env.
After phone dried out for several weeks, we put his new phone battery in old phone. Everything shows, but have no sound. Problem #1. All games appear and play, again no sound. Is there any way possible to transfer games from old phone to new phone? Have bought,(yet to receive), a data cable in hopes it could be done with BitPim. If that doesn't work, is there a possibility that syncing bluetooth on both phones could transfer games. By the way, I'm talking a ton of games that I have paid a boatload for. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

first off what was your son thinking?!? but to the point, yes you could use bitpim. The bluetooth for Vzw is crippled to the point you can't transfer any data from phone to phone unless it's Contact or Calender. I had the enV until I got the Voyager which now takes away alot of restrictions. Maybe go to the voyager instead. But for sure bitpim works not only for games but for pix, ringtones, contacts. Look at it this way, vzw hates it cuz its free but we pay a buttload of money not only for service but for extras too.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that was a cure, but, I had someone else tell me that everything BUT the games were transferable through BitPim. Any thoughts on how to get the sound back? The reasoning for all of this is if I can get it back into working order I'm going to use it as my workphone.

well you could change the esn and all of that and then transfer games, does it work? yes. I've done it before. Be in trouble by verizon? yes. So do i recommend it? no. now for the sound, it could either be a water logged sound card or your speakers are no just messed and if possible find those lil speakers on ebay somewhere. Now since you changed the battery you have a new red dot strip on there, but is the one on the phone all messed up? sometimes if you let it dry without touching you could have it be normal and return the phone

Wow that's dirty. This is why customers are slammed in forums. 😳

I got no problem with it being dirty. What's dirty is people who rob software from these programmers that build them. Compare that to a $50 charge with insurance and you tell me what's dirty.

You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The phone got wet, and if the battery LDI doesn't change, you're advising him to return the phone? You're giving him advice to defraud the carrier. Pay the insurance fee, that's what it's for.

Your comment about "stealing software" had nothing to do with this conversation. Way off base. Try to conjure up a better, more relevant analogy.

Is this a forum for helping one another out when some one is in need of advice from someone else who MIGHT have ran into the same problem. OR , is it a forum where someone asks a question and then everyone gets in a PISSING match and gives their own P C view of right and wrong. I KNOW what right from wrong is! What I don't know is how to get the sound back on this EnV. Any takers on just that question?

I was responding to the guy that was trying to tell you to cheat, lie, and not take responsibility. Not a pissing contest at all, he was just wrong.

When ANYTHING electronic gets that badly wet, you can probably kiss it goodbye. Water is detrimental to electronics.

Yea i agree. As far as geting the games over to your other phone you could try calling customer sevice and tell them your phone whent swiming and they may credit your account so you can just download the games to the other phone agine. I know they do that for soungs so they do it for games. as far as fixing the sound on the phone unless you know some basic eltric repair you may need to eather send the phone to the incerance or go to a VZW store that has a tec.

A tech won't be able to work a miracle. It's going to require a physical repair/replace all the equipment that got damaged by water. That's not what they do.
