Great news! It is always great to hear what the competition has to offer. If I hadn't been reading all of the articles on Phone Scoop, Engadget, and Gizmodo, I would never have known this. Thank you for bringing some very valuable information into the Verizon forum. I applaud your efforts to keep us all current.

I am so sick of people talking about that stupid iPhone. I know a few ppl that own the iPhone and Ive played around with it. I just don't really care for it because it doesn't feel like a real phone to me. I need an actual keybad!

Yes - I see what you're saying. Having to re-tap the buttons to get the damn thing to work is something I have always wanted in a phone and finally, I get my way with the Instinct.

If its for Jog (of course I mean Sprint), they should have stop kidding themselves and called it Extinct.

I know...

They never drop a call and have coverage where the Buffalo roam....

Thats why they put up with Verizon.

Now why do people put up with Sprint is the question.

"Why do people put up with Sprint?"

For the same reason why people buy a Kia instead of Honda or Toyota. They are a discount phone company ready to give away the house in hopes of keeping the ever-decreasing customer base that they have from leaving.

no more like first class data and soon to be REVA phones with qhat..but you wouldn't know anything about that! 🙂 plus streaming video with zero restrictions and the ability to download anything I want.

LL Cool Jake. Sounds like you have a lot of faith in Sprint. Why don't you invest your money in them and reap a huge return and dividends since you sound so confident that they will be a dominant force in the market?

Don't you want to be a millionaire? You can definitely be one if you invest your money in Sprint, the way you're talking about them and everything.

Have you ever used their data, DC, or even voice service they're second to none..yes they have taken a beating but that will all turn around. Actually I did buy a few hundred worth of stock. Their stock price the way it is couldn't possibly get any worse, and more than likely will go up significantly, and if it doesn't then it's not like I'm out allot of monies 🙂

What's the difference between the Instinct and the Glyde? Other than the QWERTY keyboard.

anyways im back..the glyde is a joke and certainly there is nothing revolutionary about it...the Instinct Won Best in SHOW for a reason.

The glyde is nothing more than a different style voyager with a sub par web experience, same crappy ui, and restricted data, and verizon crippling and blocking of apps.

The Instinct will run on REVA, allow streaming, with countless multimedia apps...watch the video and learn something.

Surely you know they will not just give it to you guys. They don't give anything away free.

If Samsung, LG or any other contender wanted to beat the powerhouses of Apple or Blackberry they really need to step it up.

It seems control of the product even after it is sold to the public is key. Apple and Blackberry have their end to end solutions on their devices. The Instinct is a nice phone but what does it offer that any other Sprint phone doesn't already have? I hope the $100 Million marketing pays off for Sprint and Samsung.

This is an iPhone clone that is exclusive to Sprint. You will not see this outside the US or Oversea, so it won't come near the volume of sales as a Blackberry or an iPhone have reached. To us.... it's just an LG Voyag...

Those devices are different. The software that's provided on those devices are different (e.g. Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Windows Media Player, iTunes, WinAmp), let alone completely different OS on those devices. Hardware wise, they all probably have different processors and RAM. Hell, even their back end service are different (I want to see you use BES on the Instinct or iPhone).

Yes, you get email and all of those tasks on any of those devices. But how it's delivered, that's the thing. Now in regards to delivery, I...

i get what you're sayin but i think your analogy is completely off... rather then trying to a mercedes bmw and an audi you need to think about one manufactur making the same car for 3 different companies... yes how the package is delivered is different but like you said... the end result is the same. I just don't understand people blasting a phone that gets them to the same place as another phone would

It can be valid if they blast the phone correctly. Look at a computer. At the end, all computers do the same. But what do you prefer ... AMD or Intel?
...
60dollarcarcharger

Apr 10, 2008, 1:20 PM
well... equal qualities of either are gonna just fine with me... just don't compare the worst amd to the best intel... that's where you're going wrong

Apr 10, 2008, 3:21 PM
I think comparing the Audi S4, Mercedes AMG, and the BMW M3 are all comparable to each other and fair.

Now for some people, that's fine ... in regards to equal qualities of either. Some people prefer other OS or means - each have their pros and cons and perhaps some people like these types of pros than the other types of pros.

For VZW ... i swear most of their phones have the same types of pros and cons. That's what I was talking about. No differentiating feature.

I doubt it will be $45 data. Everything will probably be included with the VCast package like the Voyager. Verizon has been letting LG get more and more uncrippled. With the open access on the horizon, I would expect the crippling to lessen a great deal.

Yes, the 2g iPhone for AT&T which struggles for reception even in the best conditions will team up with Sprint's Instinct; Sprint, the company that just got a new CEO and continues to actually have a net loss of customers every quarter (as opposed to the other big 3 who gain). That really sounds like they have something on Verizon.

It is because that Verizon has much more stringent testing procedures for new phones before they approve them for use on their network. The other carriers that you refer to do minimal testing and just throw products out there. The best network should require the best testing of new products.
