Question about adding a line??
I am sure this is not the first time, someone has asked this question. I tried searching but I didn't find any info on here...
I was going to add a line to my account cause my lil sis wants a phone, I was going to get a nicer phone to keep for myself and just give her my Samsung A990.
I will loose my number if I do that correct? No way of keeping my number?

the location that you purchase the phone at. I know at our location, we would activate the new phone on the new line, but then switch the serial numbers so that the new phone was on your line, and your little sis could have your old phone and you get to keep your number, Make sence? But from my understanding, this is dependant on the location's policies, so you will need to ask at the location you do business with,

While it's not exactly an accepted practice, it can be done. Start the new line of service with the new equipment and then go home, log on to MyAccount and complete the serial number change. Retail locations frown upon this practice because again, not really an accepted practice. It can be done, but you're better off this way. If it fails, call Customer Service.

Strange, in my area I don't know of a single store (cor or indirect) that has problems doing this. It does take a few extra min which can be a bit of a pain when your busy but if you got a new line out of it (esp if there is data) then its worth the few min it takes.
The only thing I would be concerned with is they may try and charge you for the ESN change, if thats the case then do it on my account or cust service like phantom said.

I have four lines on my account, and I am the Primary. I have bought a new phone and used my old phone on another line a few times already. Every time its been in store and I have never had a problem with changing over my phone number to the new phone. 😁

You probably bring that store a lot of business.

Plain and simple. Yes it can be done. Phones are not attached to 1 phone number for the rest of their lives. Common store practice is 20.00 for an esn change, but it does depend on the store. Like another said, you can also log into your online VZW account and process the change, and you can also call customer service. It isn't all that complicated.
