The three states that still don't have evdo. But... I went to verizon store in the mall again and the rep said evdo was very very soon... I could tell since it keeps flashing every now and then. I turned on my razor and it had evdo for a bit. I am excited. Poor SD always dead last. WV and AK don't count cuz no one lives there!

Charleston has 50k people as does Huntington. I know it isn't much to sneeze at, but there are still decent populations from Huntington to Charleston.
Oh...and South Dakota has a pop bas of 761k to WV 1.2 mil.

But Verizon is not marketed heavily in WV. In south dakota our only options are verizon, alltel, sprint, unicel and long lines wireless. Sprint is only marketed in the east, so that can't be used for state wide (it has Awful roaming agreements) Long Lines whatever the crap it is, has awful coverage, Like SE SD and then Iowa, woo hoo. Unicel covers like ten square miles. So its pretty much down to alltel and verizon. Alltel has less customers in SD but almost half the state is EVDO. Verizon has more customers, better reception, nationwide plans, etc, but no EVDO. I think if they hurry up and get EVDO they could get even more companies!

Actually the 2006 census was at 781K, it's only 20K more, but we have to take what we can get 😉 and our largest city, Sioux Falls, has 150K it's not much compared to most but it's 100K more then Charleston and Huntington 😛 .
For South Dakota we have been told the end of June for EVDO and have been told we can tell customers that so it should be right. Nothing like waiting two years for it!

Yeah, unfortunately for piddily little 'ol SD we get last dibs on everything. When you have more cows then people (which I don't know if this is true but I would be surprised if it wasn't) you just aren't seen as important as the rest.

If we cant expect it till june, then why does everyones phones keep flashing evdo? Every time I turn on my razr it shows evdo and then sometimes I randomly open it and evdo is on. My friends krzr does the same thing. My 8600 does it when i turn it on and the razr in the verizon store did it too... grr at least if I didn't see it I wouldn't expect it......
