phone with best reception?

i'm about ready upgrade soon and am hoping to get some opinions on phone's with good reception. i'm coming from a v3m, yea yea, i know how most of you feel about razr's...but where i live, it beat out every LG with reception. reception is the most important feature since i live in a fringe area. i'm looking at moto's lineup, but am tired of the razr-esq designs. do any LGs match or beat moto's reception?

thanks!

moto i would go with the razr maxx ve

lg I would say vx8350 or env

i dont really know what phones have the 'best reception' anymore. I would say read reviews and get what you like, if it doesnt work take it back within the 30 days and get something else.

my v3m has been working just fine for the last 2 years...by fine i mean it has only dropped a handful of calls. granted, i only use it for calls and text messages. but the call quality has been excellent compared to the 2 lg8100s in my house.

if not moto, what other phone compares when it comes to call quality (reception, ability hold calls, etc.) in fringe areas? would you say the enV's reception to comparable to the moto e815? i'm considering trying the enV now and waiting for the enV2 to come out so i can exchange it...from what i hear the enV's reception is good.

I have the Razr 2 and it picks up great. And from what I've heard the LG 8350 is a great choice too. I've had the Razr V3m and it sucks compaired to the Razr 2

For the comparison, did your V3m have the newer software in it? (you could tell by the ev and 1x split 'bar' indicator showing)
I've been considering the Razr2 but since Sept 07 when I got the new software 24.1_01.19.07 it's been perfect. Coverage still is better than friends 8100 and 8300's. However,
I'm seriously considering the ENV2 that is supposed to be out before Apr30. Hope it's RF is as good.
Thanks..

not sure about cellgeek, but my v3m doesn't have the new software and i've never had a problem with it. right now i'm considering the razr2 and the enV2...leaning more toward the enV2 because it's a lot cheaper. i'm assuming the razr2 has the best reception out of the 2 phones though...i'm just not willing to fork out $200 (my NE2 is only worth $50 now).

no my V3m didn't have the new software, I had it back when the V3m was new on the market, it was a good phone at the time, but compaired to the RAZR2, I like the RAZR 2 the best. I think it picks up a little better. I don't know alot about the enV, but I know that LG is becoming more popular with phones, and most opinions are good.

thanks! i've been considering the razr2, but right now it's out of my price range. the lg 8100 and 8300 haven't done well reception wise, in my house...so i'm going to assume the 8350 isn't any better.
