Is it a myth? I've made 2 calls to customer service, and nobody has a clue to what I'm talking about. I went as far as walking them to the 4.14 news brief on THEIR website, and I was magically disconnected... Hmmm... Little help please...
...
Data plan, sorry. 😕
...
no myth.. only on select handsets... the smt5800, xv6800, and q9m. Heard somewhere about the touch (6900) being included as well
...
CS had no idea what I was talking about. I had to order the $44.99 one. I should try again huh?
...
that's CS for ya though... its usually hit or miss with them (that's not a slam, that's reality)... try an actual rep.. they should know
...
there was no training, no main announcement in infomanager. Just guessing but it seems like they don't want people to know so they don't have to knock everyone down the $15.
...
I agree. As an indirect owner we've gotten no notifications about this at all. The only thing we got was a poster saying $29.99 and showing the 3 phones. No actual announcement or details though.
...
Actually I guess it depends on the area you work in, but it was on Info Manager in the South area for about 4 days before it hit plus it was on www.verizonwireless.com in the news section as well when it launched
...
No **** right.... It has been in infomanager, and like another said it is for the Q9m, xv6700, and another phone. Also available for blackberry phones as long as you are not accessing the blackberry enterprise server.
...
The real question here is when or if it will be available for all pda's, especially the 6900. As of yet noone seems to know.
...
6900 not eligible for the 29.99 pda plan...yet.
...
some people have found it but not most.
...
Really? Because I knew about it last week when they posted announcements about it. Those wonderous lil method and procedure e-mails and online postings provide a lot of information if you read them. But also...if the OP is reaching outsourced call centers, they may not have been notified. And there should be a training if i'm not mistaken...it just wasn't made mandatory yet.
...
oh, a training, you mean like the Nationwide training we just had, 4 months after the plans launched? 🙄 I heard there was an email but as I said before it was buried in a "mobile minute" email that has other things in it. 99% of people missed it. It just started 2 days ago.
...
what? We were trained a month before the nationwide plans were launched. Also this 29.99 plan has a training in VZLearn.
...
It's 29.99, but you don't get Wireless Sync for that. So if you just want to check your Yahoo account and occasionally hotsync with your computer to update contacts, task lists, and so on, you're probably fine. If you're planning on using it with an Exchange server, you're going to need the $45 plan.
...
just call them and give them the SFO code 73715 if you are calling in or when in-store they should just go into "email and web for smartphones" on the start page and it should be easy from there.
...
Those codes are helpful but that plan is not available for the HTC Touch yet. It is only available for the 3 phones listed in a previous post. Verizon releases a new data plan which is the same price as At&t's personal PDA plan but doesn't let all their pda's use it - this is very sad. It should have been released for use on all pda/smartphones at the same time. It may be available for all in the future but why release it until it is!!
...
dang it vzw get it right 🙄 🙄 🙄
...
? or they could be nice and let the people with these devices take advantage of it now instead of waiting so the 20 people with the touch don't feel left out.
...
Eh, between this and the Blackberry 29.99 plan, there are more PDA type devices you can use the special plan on than ones you can't. On top of that, the ones you can't right now are more or less the top of the line models like the Treo series. Most people who buy PDAs at that tier want everything they have to offer. The fact that the $30 plan isn't compatible with Exchange Server makes it pretty much useless for medium to large business customers anyway, and these customers make up the vast majority of Treo sales for the company.
This is far from VZW's largest issue.
