...trying to help my parents out here. my dad was the original account holder, then he thought he wanted to switch out for ATT so my mom became the acct holder and he on one of the secondary lines. he then decided to stay with VZW. now that he knows about the corporate discount he's eligible for, he wants to switch back to being account holder. my mom says she thinks she remembers having to pay a fee for when they switched places the first time, is this the case? i was under the impression that it was free. any help would be greatly appreciated!

No there is no fee to do an Assumption of Liability. There will be some partial billing, but as long as the credit check comes back ok for your dad there is no charge to do the transfer... I REALLY wish that VZW would allow the spouses of people who have corp. discounts have that discount without having to do an AOL... But then I would be out of a job. So i hope that helps ya

Hi, new here but am a long time Verizon wireless customer in NY. I am in the position of needing to switch account ownership to my husband so as to get a corporate discount. But I have a few questions: will I lose access to our America's Choice Plan and have to switch to the new plans, will we lose access to the New Every 2?

new ever two date will stay the same as long as the same number remains primary.

as for if you have to switch plan I would say no. I am 95% sure on that but you should ask prior to doing it.

I am pretty sure you have to migrate to the nationwide plan. Also will have to agree to a minimum of one year contract. If you are over one year left you might get lucky and have less time. If you are under a year it will extend.

You are supposed to "have" to migrate to nationwide pricing to do an AOL, but it really depends on the rep you get. I know I keep them the same most of the time if they do not want to change. Also with the contract. That is actually not correct anymore. If you are in a contract for less than one year the CED will stay the same. If you are in a contract for longer than one year... the CED will then move into a one year agreement.

thanks! me-in-ny already asked, but my mom is up for her NE2 and my dad and bros lines are up for a discount as well. what's going to happen to my mom's NE2? will she automatically lose it since she will no longer be the account holder? what will happen to my dad and bros discounts?

Being the account holder and being the user of the primary line are two completely different things.

Account Holder: Person who did the credit check and gets the bill.

Primary Line: Person who is charged the high amount on the bill (as opposed to being charged $9.99 a month). Actually, Verizon Wireless could care less who actually uses what phone. As far as they are concerned, all of your lines belong to the account holder and all others are just people who he happens to be ok with them using the phones on his/her account.

So just call the Assumption of Liability Number (the old and new account holder) at 1-866-212-6653 and ask that NOTHING ON THE PLAN BE CHANGED. Everything should be fine. Double check with your rep of course....

negative.

there is no fee. however the first bill for mom will be high due to a prorated first month charge plus full month in advance. the reverse will be true for dad tho because he will receive credit for his unused portion of the current month. it should be a wash.
