how good is it for txting and sending picture messages .. I had the 8525 for AT&T and it was rather horrible IMHO

I dont mean as far as keyboard .. but how does the platform work .. for lack of a better term

Is there AIM as well? or is that a 3rd party app

I sooo wish Verizon would come out with a sidekick type phone .. this would be their leading selling phone if they did .. Tmobile signal sux in my area so I could NEVER use it for a phone but I have had every SK that came out from the first black and white to the new LX and Ive always only had SK service without minutes .. works awesome when it has a signal .. lol

They have a sidekick style phone...its called the voyager or even the enV is pretty close in terms of performance. And both phones are a little smaller than a sidekick I believe.

The BB platform is fine for texting, it does thread your messages which is nice to have if you text a lot. Its not as good as the Palm treo style, but its still good.

And yes, you can get AIM on a blackberry. Typically I believe you have to download a program to use it.

thanks Chris thats what I wanted to know .. thread txtin .. just didnt know how to phrase it

I do enjoy the ENV2 and I didnt like the Voyager but it wasnt totally bad .. thou in no way possible do they compare one bit to the sidekick as far as txting using AIM or the web .. again IMHO .. I never used the web on the Voyager it was just to much .. small screen ... etc ..

I think I'm going to return the ENV2 if the curve comes out in time for my 30 days .. the thread txtin sounds nice .. my 8525 didnt do that .. Id really love to get my hands on that 9000 blackberry with the touch screen but its only GSM

Right now the ultimate phone for me .. minus provider .. would be the SE 850 or the Nokia 95 .. decent txting .. great camera and w...

Yeah the SK is a pretty slick phone. I have played with one, but never owned one, so I can only offer up a very basic comparison.

You should be able to send a picture message with a curve or pearl. With the no camera blackberries you can open attachments that are jpeg, and then save those images to send at a later date.

The BB 9000 looks slick, I'm sure verizon will get it eventually, hopefully sooner than later. And I don't think the 9000 is a touchscreen. Actually I'm almost positive its not.

humm maybe I have the wrong model number .. its the one Engadget keeps talking about .. but which ever .. we can only hope .. I have to be honest Im not a fan of a touch screen as an only entry way .. but if it was more like the blackberry with a touch along with the qwerty on the bottom .. I was very excited about the voyager when it first came out but over time I found i didnt do ANYTHING from the front except press ANSWER when someone called lol

we live and learn im sure some ppl love it

thanks for your info
