I'm searching for a new phone and new plan. Currently I have a regular razr (hate it btw) with the North America's Choice plan 900 mins plus the regular extras (n&w, txt).

I'm thinking I might upgrade to a device which would allow me to check email (gmail and corporate outlook?) surf the web (unrestricted) and do all the things I can currently do (regular phone and text functions).
I would also enjoy a phone which takes decent pictures.

A friend of mine with another carrier told me he can tap into wifi networks for free. Does verizon allow this? 😕

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated. I've been reading about the VW6900 and the BB Curve but I really don't know enough to make an informed decision. If I get frustrated and/or the ...

blackberry curve is awesome, as is the EnV2 (thats what I have, love it)

the 6900 is kinda joints.

as for plans check vzw.com or call 800-922-0204 and see what they can put you on. im not sure if there is a nationwide + canada email select plan. but im sure you can get it with side adds.

Thank you 🙂

What is your opinion on the XV6800? I misquoted the model above.

I'm really just a regular user and I get the impression Blackberry is more geared toward the business user. All I want to be able to do is check email, surf the web on wifi while I wait in the airport and take a decent camera shot.

6800 is good. if the BB curve has wifi I would get it instead tho. Blackberry is better then windows mobile imo.

I disagree with your statement that its geared towards business. In the past that may have been true but the new blackberry software and the data as low as 29.99 for personal users is definitely consumer friendly. it is easy and full featured to check your email web etc.

but if you get a blackberry you have to have atleast the 24.99 10mb data plan. you can still use wifi when avail but you need a plan.

there is no select of premi plans for canada plans, so you would have to add the 5000/unl in txt/pix/flix for $20

Thank you both for your input. I'm *this* close to snagging the Curve. I think I'll stop in the store tomorrow and check it out in person.
