I did not have one but in looking on ebay for phones noticed that you can get a brand new Motorola e815 for like 85$. I see a ton of review for different phones that say the Motorola e815 was the best phone...so why don't people just replace their old or dead e815 with a new one from ebay? just wondering?

I think that a lot of people are under the impression that you must get a phone from your carrier directly. That and the convenience of just going into the store and walking out with a brand new phone 15 minutes later.

There is this word...it is....free

Would rather sign a contract and get a free phone. Atleast thats what it seems like in the industry.

Mainly because the phone is slightly dated. New phone means new features means more fun. I still have a fully functional e815 that is on a line that doesn't need anything new...so...it's happily chugging along. But people don't always trust eBay phones (too many dishonest people out there).

I love my e815 phone and am a little disappointed Motorola doesn't get an upgraded version of that phone. I have that and my Voyager, so I can't complain- I love both phones. Ironically though, the e815 has better signal everywhere than all of the newer phones....
