How do you stop the signal notification (the audible notification) that says "lost service". I need to know how to turn this notification off.

Thanks I hope this has not been posted before I really did not feel like looking through all the post.

It should be under Phone Settings> Alerts> Service Alerts

Would this be the ERI alert?

Probably not, but turn that thing of, too. It will beep at you if your in a marginal area and are bouncing between VZW and Alltel towers (or something else).

I don't think that effects going in and out of coverage completely, but I've been wrong before.

Glossary: ERI means Enhanced Roaming Indicator- It's the feature that changes the banner on your phone to show "Verizon Wireless" vs. "Extended Netwok" (partnership carrier) vs. "Roaming" (usually only happens if you leave the USA completely).

Actually the ERI is usually the voice alerts like the one that says "Verizon Wireless" when you make a call. It could be the "loss of service" alert as well. If I recall though it seems like I remember hearing this couldn't be turned off on a phone, not sure if it's this one or not.

Actually, I think it has to do with the software.

My wife's phone will always say "loss of service" but mine won't utter a peep (we both have env's). She's on the original software version whereas I've always updated mine.

That might be it.
