A delay txting to other carriers?
For example, if you are new to VZW (less then 3 months) and brought your number over from another carrier, (example: Sprint) then Sprint has to notify every other Cell carrier out there that your number no longer belongs to Sprint and that any messages sent to you should be forwarded to VZW for delivery. When you text to other carriers, there are things like internet traffic and interfacing with the other carrier's systems.
My wife carries a TMO Pearl and a VZW Gleam...when I group text from my handset(VZW) the Gleam ALWAYS EVERY TIME goes through almost immediately...the TMO may go through quickly or delayed. I've seen it both ways.
It's just because once it leaves VZW's system they have on control over it.
