Northern WV Service
I go to college in Fairmont, WV. I was wondering if anyone knew what service i should get. I am getting either Cingular or Verizon. I looked at the maps and they both say they offer service. What do you think is the better service for my area?

I would go with Verizon. I live in the Pgh, PA area and I used to travel to Morgantown and Fairmont on a weekly basis with my previous job. When I started that job, I had AT&T (Cingular), and it was horrible. I switched to Verizon and had no problems at all. Verizon is definately the way to go because the Cingular network in that area is no more than what AT&T had. Granted that will change, but not in the immediate future.
This is just my experience and opinion. Take it however you want.

Well i am just wondering how the new GSM is. I heard it is supposed to be good. I know that verizon is good up here becuase i have U.S. Cellular which i am pretty sure reads off verizons towers. Any more input would be excellent. Let me know please. Thanks. Chad

The old cingular was quite spotty around this area. I am just worried about Northern WV primarily. I would say that verizon and cingular are pretty much the same everywhere else. It's hard to tell...

Ask your collegemates what works for them over there... they'd be the best to ask unless you can manage to find someone in this forum who goes to the same college (indoor coverage comparison) as well as the areas around it.

Thanks. I have asked some of my friends about thier services. I have one that uses Cingular GSM and the other uses Verizon. They both are pretty happy with thiers. The only problem with me is that i am a perfectionist. I have to have the best everything or i am not happy. This is just a tough choice for me. 😕
