Adding an Individual Plan to Existing Plan

dancebabe9008

My father has an Individual Plan with VZW. I will be joining AT&T and he will be paying for it. It says you can add a new line by adding an Individual Plan. If we do this, will he be able to see the calls that I make, etc? Will I have access to see the calls that I make online with my own "My Verizon" account? Thanks.

Also, in the future, if I wanted to make it so it was just MY account, will I be able to do that?

Ah. You're right, it wasn't. I guess I wasn't paying much attention when I made it.

My father has an exisiting Individual Plan with VZW. I will be joining Verizon and my father will be paying the bill. The Verizon website says my father can add a new line by adding an Individual Plan. If he does this, will he be able to see the calls that I make, etc? Will I have access to see the calls that I make online with my own "My Verizon" account? Thanks.

Also, in the future, if I wanted to make it so it was just MY account, will I be able to do that?

Was this better?

Start a separate account with a different account number...don't have it have the same account number then you can set up "My Verizon" for your individual line.

The big caveat is that if it's under his name, he can get any and all info on the account, even though you are the user.

If I start my own account, can he still pay for it?

Also, I heard that if I DO start my own account I will have to put a deposit down AND they will check my credit.

Don't do your business online. Go to the store and have them run your credit. It is possible that you will have a deposit. But it never hurts to check. If you do have a deposit and can't pay it or don't feel like paying it I would recommend that you go on a family plan with your father. You can add a second single line plan but 90% of the time it will cost you more money than a family plan. This is why I recommend going to the store. You can discuss what you need with a person who is experienced in helping people make these decisions. Also down the road if you do want the plan to be in your name you can go to the store and do what's called an "Assumption of Liability." They will run your credit to qualify you at that point as well. ...

You and your father can go to a store and they will run his credit for a new line of service. The important part is to specify that you want this to be a seperate account (more than likely it will be the same account number but on level 2). This way your account is seperate from his account. It will be under his name but he can add you as "account manager" formerly known as "full authorized contact" meaning you have just about every option available as the account holder. This will allow you to have your own "My Verizon" with your own login and he can't see the information. As for the "can it be in my name and he pays it"....Verizon Wireless does not care who pays your bill...as long as someone does 😁 And at any time, you can complet...

My dad also receives a discount from his work, will he be able to do that and get a discount on my separate account as well?

If the account is in your name, no. If he starts another account number in his name, then yes.

That is correct, but to get around that, if you start the account in his name and then do the "AOL" (assumption of liability) the discount transfers to the new account.

Not true. The discount will be removed upon transferring to a user that is not authorized to have the discount. That used to be the case that it would transfer, but not anymore.

Well...it's not supposed to 🤣 and they do get reviewed later and most times removed. It appears the best option for the OP is to have her dad start a new account level for her and go from there.

if you want the benefits on price of a family share plan, then no you cant have "your own" my account

if you want that, then you can have your dad add another single line plan to his account. no you cant have it in your name and billed to him, but he can add you as a "account manager" (use to be full access contact) and then you can make changes to your account, while still having him pay for it.

No, we are not going to have the family share plan. I will be getting the Blackberry Messaging and Data 450 plan.

Okay, so that's where he would "add individual plan".

Will he be able to see my calls and what not?
